History
With over 40 years of experience, TACL-LYF is the largest Taiwanese American summer camp in the San Francisco Bay Area.
1983
Taiwanese American Youth Leadership (TAYL) was established. TAYL camp originally started as a place where first generation Taiwanese parents could pass on their culture and values
1998
Camp programming leadership was passed to 2nd generation Taiwanese Americans
2010
TAYL was reborn as Taiwanese American Citizens League - Leading Youth Forward (TACL-LYF). Organization leadership completely transitioned to the next generation of Taiwanese Americans
2012
TACL-LYF celebrated our 30th anniversary at Monte Toyon Camp and Retreat Center, where our camp theme was The Building Blocks of LYF.
2013
TACL-LYF began having over 100 campers in a single summer camp
2014
Starting 2014, Camp Workshops were split by age to be better tailored to the appropriate camper audience.
2017
Our biggest camp at the time (150 campers) - LYF Camp 2017 surpassed all previous camp sizes!
2022
LYF Camp returns post-COVID.
