Taiwanese American Cultural Festival
May 11, 2013 10:00am – 6:00pm / Union Square, San Francisco

Come to the largest Taiwanese American event in the San Francisco Bay Area and experience a characteristic element of Taiwan, learn more about Taiwan’s history and Taiwanese Americans in the Bay Area, as well as enjoy Taiwanese delicacies. This is also a great opportunity to volunteer for the largest Taiwanese event in the San Francisco Bay Area; this year we are aiming for 170 volunteers, so come out and help us! Diabolo Yoyo Workshop

Join JTASA for an amazing show of skill with the diabolo yoyo. Try your hand at this traditional performing art and join us for beginner or advanced lessons from the yoyo performers themselves! Keep an eye out for more info!

LYF Camp 2013: “Choose Your Own Adventure”
June 19-23, 2013 / Monte Toyon, Aptos

LYF Camp, TACL-LYF’s main program, is a 5 day 4 night summer camp featuring leadership workshops, teamwork exercises, traditional delicacies, and lifelong friends. This year the theme is “Choose Your Own Adventure” which focuses on the individual: dreams, life path, and the impact an individual can make on a community. Nothing beats being a summer camp counselor! You experience diverse and creative ways to work with a team, build strong relationships, and inspire lives of the younger generation. Young professionals and college students, like you, have the chance to give back to the community. Still miss camp? Of course you do! Come join the LYF Family for our Winter Reunion! There will be hot drinks and delicious treats to ward off the winter chill, and lots of fun and games. Oh, and of course a wintery photo booth as well, so be sure to come in your best holiday gear: Santa’s outfit, elf tights, red noses, antlers, awful knit sweaters, and of course a mustache to keep you warm. It’s going to be a brrrrilliantly fun time!

College Workshop Series: Admissions/ Taiwanese American Center, San Jose, CA

LYF’s newest program is a LYF and JTASA (jtasa.org) joint College Workshop series which focuses on preparing high school students for college. Our College Workshop Series includes four workshops, College Admissions, Resume Building, Public Speaking, and Career Exploration. The first workshop, College Admissions, concentrates on developing a college preparation timeline from freshman to senior year.
